DAISY
MODEL LEGACY 2203 and 2213,
22 CALIBER, SEMIAUTOMATIC RIFLES

RECALL: Daisy Manufacturing Company, Inc. is voluntarily recalling all Legacy Model 2203 and 2213, semiautomatic .22 caliber rifles for retrofitting.

It has been determined that the sear or disconnect may break on the Legacy semiautomatic rifles which may permit the gun to discharge more than one round with a single pull of the trigger. Because of this condition, Daisy has elected to recall all Legacy 2203 and 2213 semiautomatic rifles and replace the sear and disconnect components. The rifle will be repaired and returned at no charge to the owners.

This recall applies only to Daisy Legacy semiautomatic .22 caliber rifles Models 2203 and 2213, all with the serial number beginning with the letters AC. Owners of these rifles should contact Daisy at 1-800-354-8841 for information on returning their gun(s).

DAVIS INDUSTRIES DERRINGERS
Model DM-22

WARNING: Davis Industries double barrel derringers Model DM-22, in 22 Magnum caliber with a cross bolt safety have been known to wear the shoulder of the hammer allowing the hammer to seat close to or on the firing pins when the safety is in the “on” position. The firing pins are free floating and do not have springs in them to prevent forward movement. This situation creates the potential for accidental discharge.

WARNING: The Erma/Excam, 22 caliber, model RX22, pistol may SLAM FIRE. With the magazine loaded and the safety in the on position, the slide is pulled to rear and released to load a cartridge into the chamber of the pistol. As the slide moves forward, feeding a cartridge into that chamber, the pistol may discharge. Examination of cartridge cases have revealed the absence of a firing pin impression. Whenever loading a firearm the muzzle should be pointed in a safe direction.

FRANCHI
MODEL SPAS 12, SAS 12 and LAW, SHOTGUN

RECALL: Your Shotgun May Fire When You Take It "Off Safe"!!!

A limited number of SPAS-12, SAS-12 and LAW-12 shotguns, formerly imported by the bankrupt F.I.E. Corporation, may accidentally fire when the "CARRY SAFETY" (the large rotating safety lever located on the right front side of the trigger guard) is rotated from the "ON SAFE" to the "OFF SAFE" position.

Franchi urges all owners to immediately cease all use of these shotguns. Carefully unload the chamber and magazine, with the muzzle pointed in a safe direction, and return the shotgun to American Arms, Inc.

American Arms, Inc., the Franchi factory authorized service center, will replace the potentially defective rotating lever safety system with a new push button cross bolt safety system. The service work, replacement safety system, and shipping are FREE OF CHARGE.

RECALL: ADVANCE \d4ADVANCE \d4Howa Machinery Ltd. of Japan is performing a safety upgrade on all model 1500, 1550, and 1700LS series rifles manufactured between 1970 and 1993. The affected rifles bear serial numbers from one of the following series on the receiver. PN00010 – PN 87159, LS00001 – LS 05150, LS10001 – LS10309, B000001 – B028450, M000001 – M020422. The safety upgrade will replace the bolt sleeve to prevent misassembly of the bolt, which might occur on the affected rifles. Such misassembly might result in a hazardous condition in which the rifle can be accidentally discharged without the bolt being fully engaged, causing severe injury. These rifles were distributed by Smith & Wesson, O.F. Mossberg and Sons and Interarms. These rifles may bear the distributor trademark. Presently Howa firearms are imported by Interarms of Alexandria, Virginia.

RECALL: Magnum Research, Inc. as importer of the Galil Rifle System has been advised by Israel Military Industries (IMI) that an improved bolt assembly has been developed by IMI and is now available for the .308 caliber Galil rifles. This new bolt assembly is intended to prevent primer dimpling and to decrease the probability of accidental discharge, which can result in damage to the gun and possibly serious personal injury.

Therefore, for safety purposes, please discontinue using your .308 caliber Galil; remove your current bolt assembly and return the bolt assembly as soon as possible to Magnum Research Inc. at the address below via UPS.

We will promptly provide you with a new bolt assembly at no charge together with a free sight adjustment tool to compensate you for any inconvenience. The new bolt assembly will have an engraved number matching your current serial number followed by a "-1".

The Glock, model 19 pistol slide has a bottom protrusion, whose function is to push cartridges from the top of the magazine into the chamber . When the pistol is jammed in a double feed situation, the slide protrusion can come in contact with the primer of the jammed cartridge and cause UNINTENTIONAL DISCHARGE while the action is open.

WARNING: Glock pistols manufactured between September 2001 and May 2002 with serial numbers starting with “E”, “GSSF” or “USA” regardless of caliber have experienced FRAME RAIL FAILURES.

The specific issue is the potential of breaking a rear frame rail. Glock notes that under most conditions the pistol will continue to function with three rails.

Glock, Inc. does not officially call this a recall, but an upgrade at no charge. The complete firearm should be returned to Glock for a replacement frames that will have the original serial number with a “1” prefix added to it.

INTERDYNAMIC OF AMERICA
MODEL KG-99,
9MM LUGER CALIBER, PISTOL

WARNING: During a recent investigation of an accidental discharge involving a 9mm KG-99 pistol manufactured by Interdynamic of America, a major safety defect was discovered. This condition can result in serious injury to the firearm examiner or nearby individuals. Please disseminate this information to concerned examiners.

The design of the KG-99 allows for the protrusion of the firing pin into the bolt face during extraction. This presents no problem during actual firing. Should a live cartridge be cycled through the action, there is a 10 to 20 percent chance of a discharge occurring outside of the chamber area.

While pulling the bolt to the rear, the extractor holds the cartridge (live) in position. When the bolt has traveled to the rear approximately 1 inch, the firing pin then protrudes into the bolt face under significant spring tension. The firing pin's impact with the primer is sufficient to indent the primer cup or sometimes ignite the primer compound. Metal fragments and gas resulting from the case rupture can produce serious injury to the examiner or those in close proximity.

During test firing, eye and hearing protection should always be used. While test firing the pistol, all ammunition should be expended before attempting to make the firearm safe. Manual functioning should employ test (dummy) cartridges. Attempt to maintain a position opposite the ejection port when extracting live cartridges.

RECALL: To all owners of TEC-22s from serial # 100 to # 20,033 and # 27,001 to # 27,222. A flawed part used in the manufacture of the pistol may cause the gun to function as a fully automatic pistol. Already modified guns within the serial number range can be checked by:

Opening the cover and looking by the front/side, under the cover axis screw.

If there is an indentation with an "R" affixed inside of it (check both sides) then your gun has been modified. If not, send your TEC-22 to Intratec for factory authorized installation free of charge.

MODEL TEC-9,
9MM LUGER CALIBER, SEMIAUTOMATIC PISTOL

WARNING: This pistol is subject to FIRING WITHOUT PULLING THE TRIGGER AND/OR IN FULL AUTOMATIC MODE.

In recent casework, it was noted a submitted firearm had the back portion of the polymer frame broken off. This damage allows the rear disk cap and pin to come out of the recess in the frame. The upper receiver pivots on the assembly pin and raises the back end of the upper receiver approximately 1/8”. The striker disengages from the sear allowing the firing pin to fall and strike the chambered cartridge. The firearm may continue to fire in a FULL AUTOMATIC MODE until the striker is correctly repositioned by the upper receiver returning to the lower position in the frame. The receiver may be lifted manually or by gravity when the pistol is turned on its side.

It was not determined if the damage was intentional or accidental because there were no toolmarks present and no internal parts appeared to be modified.

WARNING: These pistols may create an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CONDITION and a POTENTIAL FOR SERIOUS INJURY by firing when dropped.

This model pistol trigger/disconnector bar and sear level may have too small a gap between them such that a sharp movement of the slide rearward could cause the weapon to discharge without the trigger being pulled.

The discharge is created by the moving slide impacting the disconnector and driving the trigger bar/disconnector rearward into the cam lever before it can pivot downward and out of alignment.

RECALL: Some of these pistols may have a firing pin which extends past the breech face if the hammer is in the full down position against the rear of the slide. If the chamber is loaded and the gun is dropped with the hammer in position, the gun can fire.

A round should not be chambered in a Llama single action semiautomatic pistol until you are ready to shoot. If the gun must be carried or handled with a round chambered, the safety should be engaged. The gun should not be carried or handled when a round is chambered with the hammer down and the safety off. No gun should be dropped.

In order to minimize the potential for accidental discharge if these rules are violated, Stoeger Industries is inspecting those guns which may have the above-described firing pin condition. We will modify any gun with this firing pin condition, free of charge.

Owners of guns within the serial numbers listed above should call Stoeger's customer service department at (800) 631-0722.

LORCIN
MODEL L 25,
25 AUTO CALIBER, PISTOL

WARNING: This pistol was the subject to MECHANICAL PARTS FAILURE.

The Lorcin, 25 Auto caliber, model L25, pistol may have a breechface failure causing the slide to separate from the frame of the pistol as a result of discharge. This model of Lorcin pistol was submitted in a case to the Connecticut State Police Lab. During examination of the pistol, the slide separated from the frame when fired. Inspection of the slide revealed the breechface was blown back into the firing pin channel.

It appeared to the examiner that very little metal was left, after the breech was machined, to support a cartridge when fired.

380 AUTO CALIBER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL 

WARNING: These pistols may create an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CONDITION and a POTENTIAL FOR SERIOUS INJURY by firing when dropped.

This model pistol trigger/disconnector bar and sear level may have too small a gap between them such that a sharp movement of the slide rearward could cause the weapon to discharge without the trigger being pulled.

The discharge is created by the moving slide impacting the disconnector and driving the trigger bar/disconnector rearward into the cam lever before it can pivot downward and out of alignment.

STEYR-MANNLICHER
BOLT-ACTION, RIFLES

RECALL: Steyr-Mannlicher AG is recalling some Steyr-Mannlicher centerfire bolt-action rifles with double set triggers in the serial number range 92,000 through 150,000. This recall applies to all Steyr-Mannlicher centerfire rifles with double triggers regardless of model designation and does not apply to any Mannlicher Shoenauer rifles, nor to any other Steyr-Mannlicher products.

This action is taken because some rifles manufactured in the serial number range noted above were assembled with trigger housings (not trigger guards) which may crack or corrode. Steyr-Mannlicher has discovered that some trigger housing alloy supplied by a raw material source is below-grade, resulting in the possibility of cracking and corrosion. Improper maintenance may increase the risk. Cracking, corrosion, or any other failure of the trigger housing could result in unintended firing of the rifle. Serious personal injury or death could result from an unintentional discharge if other safety rules are violated.

This possibly dangerous condition may not be discovered by ordinary inspection.

IF YOU OWN OR KNOW THE WHEREABOUTS OF A STEYR-MANNLICHER CENTERFIRE RIFLE WITH DOUBLE SET TRIGGERS WITHIN THE SERIAL NUMBER RANGE FROM 92,000 THROUGH 150,000, DO NOT LOAD, FIRE OR OTHERWISE USE THE RIFLE.

We ask that you call our toll-free number at 888-467-8397 with the model and serial number of your rifle, or contact GSI, Box 129, Trussville, AL 35173. From that serial number, we can verify the status of the rifle.

Our distributor in the United States, GSI, at no charge will repair all affected rifles returned to Steyr-Mannlicher under this recall to the owners. Shipping costs and freight costs will also be borne by Steyr-Mannlicher.

WARNING: Approximately 20,00 of these rifles were produced with a nylon “recoil buffer.” A number of these rifles have malfunctioned, which are attributed to the failure of the recoil buffers. The part should have been made of Delrin instead of Nylon. The recoil buffer in these rifles can fracture and jam the action prevent the cycling of the action and firing.

RECALL: The Mossberg model 695 bolt action shotguns produced between 1995 and 1996 with serial numbers M000101 to M015304 have been recalled. These shotguns may discharge when closing the bolt during the loading of a live cartridge into the chamber. These firearms should not be loaded or used due to the possibility of accidental discharge.

PHOENIX ARMS

WARNING: This make and model pistol may have the potential for UNINTENTIONAL DISCHARGE.

With the pistol charged (cartridge in the chamber) and the safety “on”, if you apply pressure to the trigger, when you release the safety the pistol may fire without touching the trigger.

Examination of the internal parts reveals the sear tip was damaged or altered making it shorter than normal. Due to the damage/alteration of the sear, there is insufficient/improper engagement in the area of contact between the sear and striker. In this condition when the safety is disengaged, the force of the compressed striker spring overcomes the force of the sear spring. This situation lowers the sear allowing the striker to release, firing the pistol.
