Meet Zolzaya who works in National Center of Forensic Investigation of Ministry Justice and Home Affairs of Mongolia. Zolzaya has been a firearms examiner for 10 years.

His laboratory was founded in 1954 year and employs four examiners.  The lab is located in Ulaanbaatar city.  Zolzaya writes, "Ulaanbaatar is capital city of Mongolia.  I think you know that Mongolia is situated Central Asia between Russia and China.  We examine firearms, bullets, and cartridge cases that have been found at crime scenes or seized from suspects or criminals".

Dejan Belic (6/27/04)

Dejan was born in Novi Sad, a city in Serbia & Montenegro. He still lives in Novi Sad today but attended and graduated the Military Academy (1990-1994) in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia & Montenegro. Dejan worked for the army for 2 years and then went to work for the Novi Sad Police Department Forensic Lab.

Dejan is the only firearm examiner in his lab and he says that his lab is the best lab in his country with new and modern equipment.

Having worked on over 600 cases in firearm identification, distance determination, firearm function  and crime scene reconstruction; Dejan also works on many crime scenes as a member of crime scene response team.

Dejan has presented his findings in over 200 cases in the court of law and he recently completed the Firearm Identification and Crime Scene Investigation Course at the National Criminal Investigation Service-KRIPOS, Oslo, Norway, January-February 2004.

 

DANIEL LIPARTITI (7/21/03)

Meet Daniel Lipartiti, an independent ballistic expert, gun examiner expert, and shooting instructor from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Daniel graduated from the Experts Institute of Forensics Sciences (I.Pe.Ci.Fo: www.ipecifo.com.ar)

Daniel wrote, "My teacher's are the Engineer in Armaments Mr. Alberto Iglesias Paiz, and the Engineer in Armaments Mr. Enrique Vizzo,  both from the I.Pe.Ci.Fo Institute.  I'm working in the computer 3D CSI with simple programs like AutoCAD".

Meet  LUIS PEDROZA, Luis is the head of the area of Forensic Ballistics and Firearms Identification for the Forensic Department of the Attorney General's Office in the border city of NUEVO LAREDO in the state of TAMAULIPAS, MEXICO (map).

Luis writes that nowadays his jurisdiction occupies third place in the rank of homicides committed by firearms (90% are drug trafficking related). -
